      I could clearly see both sides of the argument here.
      A well insulated floor may not need as much thermal mass to retain heat. An uninsulated floor requires more thermal mass to retain an equal amount of heat. Now, if the uninsulated floor was sitting on a slab with cooling fins underneath with constantly circulating air, heat loss will be tremendous.
