    Re: Acoma's cure

Its Robert. I think Xjim called him Richard by mistake, then corrected it with an edit. I was just kidding around when I called him Richard. Sorry to cause confusion. Just being stupid... Its something I do quite often.

Very exciting indeed! Still looking for the photos....cool deal on the wood- glad that worked out for you.

BTW...Where did the "Richard" thing come from? I missed that.

Ohh yaaa!!!!!!! Photos will come but the draw up the flue is excellante! I noticed that at 100 degrees the smoke would come out the arch and flue. As the temp climbed in the low 200's the smoke that does exixt goes up the flue about 90%. I am keeping the oven between 200-285. I figure that if I want to hit 300, it will jump to 325+ quickly. My goal is to maintain that medium throughout the day.

My cord of Almond came this morning and it is sweet! Heavy too! The guys from the yard loved the oven, very impressed, and reiterated to me that any time I want scraps (nice ones too), that I can come by any time. What happiness to that? Almond, walnut, Oak, any of the scraps. I could load up my SUV easy several times over.

I was going to continue with all details about the oven on my oven thread, but thanks to Xabia, it makes sense to document my curing on a curing thread. Thank you Xabia I will post the oven without curing on my other thread. My curing photos will go here.

No cracks, no cracks, no cracks, that is what I repeat througout.

Well, you can call me Richard (Robert). I didn't wake up early because I could not sleep. I exhausted myself last night. My camera's batteries went dead and I want a photo opp before the first cure. My wife is taking the oldest girl to school, then picking up batteries. Once the photo is done, the fire begins
