Some have used ratios as rich as 5 to 1 and many of us have used 9-10 to 1. I used 9+ to 1 using the slurry method (cvduke's method) and had no problems using that lean a mix. Do a search with "cvduke" in the search box and you should get his thread on the method.
The leaner the mix the better the insulation value for a given thickness.
