  • Single Wall or Double Walled Flue?

    Hey Guys

Just wondering what the recommended flue type is for the pizza oven?

I have a 85cm (33inch) wide internal oven and im looking to purchase the flue today.

    Edited.

Following some advice from poeple.. im planning to get an anchor plate and have a setup similar to http://www.fornobravo.com/forum/21/m...e-2346-26.html

Is double wall neccesary.. or would single be fine?

For an internal oven you generally always need a double flue to prevent things getting too hot around where the flue penetrates the roof. If you're not worried about the heat radiating into the room from the flue pipe you can just use a double flue where it goes through the roof and a single one below it. A bit cheaper but mor3 mucking around.

A general question. I've come into a whole heap load of ceramic blanket insulation and I am thinking I can save some money by:

using a clay flue chimney, surrounded by a durarock framed chimney, and insulate the area between the clay flue and durarock with my limitless supply of used ceramic blanket.

      Yes or no?

Is the flue going through a roof and past flammable materials?

The WFO is not near any structures, so it would only go thru whatever the enclosure ends up being.

I was just thinking that if it doesnt go near anything that will burn why insulate?

From what I'm piecing together, but highly unsure about:

              1. efficiency - less loss of heat
              2. Better draw of chimney - I think?
              3. Chimney won't get hot to touch, veneer stone will stick better, etc

              and........drum roll please........

I have 11 rolls of 25'x24"x2" Ceramic Blanket from the local Intel Wafer Fab facility that they just dismantled....

Once the heat has gone up the flue, well its just gone.

                Probably not.

True that it wont be hot to the touch, but then you have to figure out a way to stick the stone.
