  • Mounting anchor plate?

I've got a stainless anchor plate which is going to accept an eight inch diameter, double walled, insulated, forty-eight inch tall chimney. The cheminey and ran cap weigh approx. forty pounds total. Anyone have any thoughts about the best weight to mount those plates?

Brick it in?, use masonry-type anchor/screws?

Any help appreciated . Here's what I have to work with:

Chimney and plate just resting in place..

Plate just resting there...(looking down from above oven)

This is the surface the plate will mount to (also looking down from above the oven...you can see the ash chute in the top of the photo)

    Thoughts?

I used blue screws (Tapcons). It's been exactly 5 yrs, never an issue. I'm not sure how you are finishing, I did an igloo. When you factor in insulation, mortar, tile, then a complete refinish over top of that; Mine is encased in at least 8" of mortar, tile and stone...its not going anywhere.
