  • Anyone willing to make and ship me a door???

    Greetings all!!

I have been an avid reader of these forums for what feels like years now. I finally purchased an oven last year and have had a ton of fun making pizzas and roasting..but this year I want to get into baking breads. For that I will need an insulated door.

Forno Bravo does not sell one that will fit and although I know how fun it is to make your own it would literally be years before I get around to it. I have found welders on craigslist but I dont think they have the knowledge on ovens to get me a good product.

Is ther anyone on the forums with some spare time that may be willing to fabricate and ship me a door that will give me some insulation and help to retain my heat after my pizzas are done?

I am in New Orleans, Louisiana and would pay for the fabrication and shipping. Any help is great appreciated.

BTW.. The oven I have is the Forno Bravo Napolino 70. I believe the specs are on the website.

    Thanks!

    Bobby

PS. If I have posted this in the wrong section please let me know!

If you don't want to build one yourself, check out your community college welding programs. I see that Delgado Community College in New Orleans has such a program. Often these tech skills programs are looking for interesting student projects and usually charge just for materials. They certainly will be more interested in taking on a small project--such as an insulated oven door--than a commercial metal fabrication shop.

I had two large carts built for foundation bays beneath my oven by one of the welding students at our local community college for his final project. I use the top of the carts for baking/serving prep surface while the underneath area serves as storage for baking/serving supplies and wood for the oven. The instructor was so pleased to have the project for the student that he made and gave me a light-weight, working door as a thank you.

p.s. Lots of folks on this forum have built simple, yet effective doors...don't just give up on yourself or your abilities so easily

no luck from the local college....I do have some interest from a local welder. But he has never done a oven door before

Am I over simplifying this...or can I just take my old (Non-insulated) door that came with the oven cut 2 pieces of the FB Board 36242 and fit it to the opening and close it up with a weld?

Keeping the thermometer that is already in the door???
