curing?

My oven is complete except for the chiminey, mortar has been drying for the last 2 weeks in the hot so. Ca. Weather we have been having, if I want to fire it to bake a couple pies this weekend do I need to still start with small fires and work my way up or is the
Mortar already fully dried and I can just build a big fire?

Wouldnt reccomend it, as moist will expand up to about 150 times - so the moist that is left, and there is moist left will expand so rappidly that it will have a chance of cracking ur dome.

If it has only been drying and you have not yet applied heat then the dome is not yet cured. You need heat for that, not just dry weather. Recommend that you follow the curing schedule in the FB plans...
