I am nearing the end of my project and now am in a mini panic. My design is a 4'x4'x4" concrete slab on top of insulated blue board, with 8"x8"x16" concrete filled cinder blocks. I have lined the interior with 2.5"x4.5"x9" fire brick. The ceiling is shaped like a bridge with the bricks on their side being 4.5" tall. I will finish adding refractory cement on the top side to get an even flow. I assume I will need to add extra insulation on the top of the oven before I finish it. I'm open for suggestions on the type of insulation and how to finish it. My question is "do I have enough bulk or am I insulated enough with the cinder block walls?
