  • Two flu pipe?

I am putting 2 4" (ID) terra cotta sewer pipe in the outer arch for the flu. They will be seperated by about 2 inches and they are 3' long. 36" Oven, Pompeii style and the inner arch span is about 20" and is going to be about 12" in the center. The vent entrance is going to be relatively short, about 10" or a bit less. The outer arch will flare out about 2" each way and probably end up about 14-15" tall in the center.
Does anyone have any thoughts about how the dual flu will function? Never tried two small flu's before, but it fits the overall design quite well.
The cost of living continues to skyrocket, and yet it remains a popular choice.

Interesting, sounds like it should work but go for it. We may learn something. That's how we got to where we are, pushing the limits...

About a year ago I think, someone built an oven with twin pipes. Looked good and worked well apparently. You might find it if you search the forum. A 36" interior diam oven needs a 6" flue to operate properly. That's 28 sq in. Two 4" pipes is slightly less at 25 sq in. Should work ok.

Someone has some terra cotta pipes to give away somewhere else on this forum. I was tempted to suggest that they would only be suitable as twin pipes. 4" is too tiny for any oven with a front cross draft flue.
Kindled with zeal and fired with passion.
