  • Stone veneer questions

I am getting ready to do my stone veneer and have a few questions. Do I need to put metal lathe over both the cement board and block. Or none at all. If I do just the cement board then should I put the scratch cote all the way to the bottom of the block stand. I am thinking that it might be easiest to just put lath on the whole thing to keep things straight and easy. Thanks for the help.

You do not need lath at all. Float the joints with thinset, then use thinset to set the stones and you are fine. Use a high quality polymer modified thinset.

Thanks Tscar. I will do that and maby just for safety a few fender washers on the screws to provide a little extra holding power. . Thanks that makes it a lot easier.

The fender washers are going to drive you crazy when you are installing the stone. Better to countersink the screws without.
