  • Big stone arch

We went BIG on the entry into the oven. The hipped roof enclosure is pretty big, so I wanted to entry arch to take up a of space. Grout and grinding still to come.

    It's a whopper.

I really like that. Are the arch bricks firebrick?

Cut limestone. It's the same material we used on the fireplace surround -- we bought a big slab. The lower stand will be a rough, rustic, stacked limestone. They are different, but similar. It cuts pretty easily -- and you can sand/grind it at the end to get a smooth finish.

      It's a monster arch. 4 1/2" deep and 11" wide.
