Standing water in the wood store

I installed my Artigiano 120 on an existing patio, which it turns out, slopes back into the wood storage area. Which in turn makes a lake and soaks my wood!

Luckily, we were planning on tiling over the existing slate, so it will work out. We are adding a layer of mortar to slope the floor of the wood store forward. Still, if you are working on an existing patio, or pouring a new foundation, this is something to take into consideration.

You could also drill a hole in the slab....it's not a lot of water to drain away.

Just a thought; although it won't help anyone who has already built their oven. I'm sure everyone strives to pour their pad as level as possible. It just makes sense. Everything after the pour is that much easier to build. But mabey before stacking all the blocks a sill seal could be placed under the first row. Alls that neds to be done is set it on the pad and start stacking. The weight of the blocks and concrete fill is more than enough weight to compress the seal and make the wood storage water tight. As far as the opening is concerned; a threshold would suffice. Something as simple as white oak. White has a much tighter cellular structure than red and less prone to rot. Three or four coats of a marine poly and held in place with a good construction adhesive.

We raised our open areas an extra floor tile, both the fridge and the storage area on the side.

I had the same issue with grade - I just set a few paver's to force the water around the opening, I had no choice - water always seems to go downhill.

Sounds like you have a viable option.
