  • Chimney under terrace roof

Hi Oven experts (and hopefully chimney experts as well)

I am planning to build a Pompeii style oven on our covered terrace (Denmark is very rainy and cold:-)), which presents me with a chimney problem. The roof is layered plastic so I cannot put the chimney straight through but could possible make angle it so it would lead out under the side, that would however make the chimney quite long. Is that a problem and how much smoke does the oven actually produce?

    Best regards
    Dennis

I did this with an 8 inch chimney pipe and it works great and I get zero smoke in the room.
Smoke wants to find the path of leased resistance so I keep the doors and windows closed until the oven and chimney are hot. Once everything is hot I can open the doors and windows and all the smoke goes up the chimney.
