  • Anybody tried a 5 inch flue?

I'm still working other projects around the home but in the evening I get to work on the design for my steel domed WFO. Besides it snowed here this past weekend, didn't stick but temps are still well below normal for this time of year.

Right now for my design a five inch Duravent chimney would fit better than a six inch and so my question: Has anybody tried a five inch diameter chimney with a 40 inch diameter dome. Interior height of dome is 18.25 inches if that helps. Thoughts and opinions welcomed.

    Thanks in advance,
    Wiley

I used 5" DuraTech on my indoor oven in Healdsburg, but it was tiny. So, while it worked fine, I can't say that that is a fair test for a 40" oven. Honestly, it sounds tight to me, and if it was my choice, I would make the 6" pipe fit, which is still less than we recommend.
