  • lipped landing area

I am creating a landing area on my Casa 90. It is indoors, so as much as I like a larger flat surface incorporating the cooking surface in the mouth of the oven, I am concerned about cleaning up the ashes. If I created a lip it would make cleaning the ashes out easier since I could sweep them onto a shovel if there was a lip much easier. If I keep the area flat I would lose that ability and probably spill more ashes on my floor. Any experience here what would be advantageous in the long run, easier clean up or flat landing surface for warming dishes?

    Thanks

    Hi Claus,

Welcome to the forum. My landing is slightly lower than the entry. It is about 1/8th" lower. The shop dust pan that I use works great for removing the ashes. I think that you are correct in your thinking.
