Oven door size...

Today I finished my floor and layed the soldier layer......9inch tall x 2.5 inch. The diameter of my oven is 30 Inch. The floor is cut inside the soldier layer.

I have a heaight of 12 inch for the door......But I may have messed up... I have only done a width of 16 inch. Everything I read states 18 inch. Do I need to make this right before I continue or will 16 inch be ok?

Rule of thumb is 63-65% of dome height for inner arch height. Right now, 12" is 80%. Width is more of a builder's choice. On a smaller oven you probably can get away with full soldiers without the need for buttressing.

OK great. Inside height ened up being 20 inch. My door height is 12.5 inches. Thats close enough for me.............Or will I need to rebuild???????(please no please please NNOOOOOOO!)!!!!.....
