Hi everyone.
For my external dome I am going to use a reclaimed red brick cut into quarters to give me a tighter/neater pointing joint.
My insulation layer over my precast dome is 60mm of ceramic fibre blanket. I have plenty of Perlite left over, so am going to do a Perlite, portland cement mix of 5:1, 2 inch thick so I have a firm base for my brick slips to go onto.
Is this a good idea or a problematic idea?
For my mortar on my external dome do I use a 4:1 sand and cement mix?
Many thanks
