  • corrugated roofing and chimney flashing question

OK you architectural metals guys...does anyone know the best way to flash my chimney when I'm using corrugated as the roofing material?

I think the red ones are more heat resistant, but you probably should have a double skinned flue.

I do have the Dura-Vent double wall chimney, but it still gets hot enough that I think I have to go for the silicone version vs. the epdm. Too bad, because it's way more expensive.

If you cut the corrugated to within 1/4" or so you could just silicone caulk the chimney to it. It's nice if the panel seam runs through the opening, easy to layout and cut. If not just measure twice....
If you're lucky or layout the panels so you do have the seam splitting the pipe, also caulk that seam inside the overlap on the uphill side. It won't leak and you won't have ugly orange hi-temp boot to look at or pay for.
