  • COAL Where to Buy on the WEST COAST

Does anyone have any source of COAL on the west coast?

I live in Oregon and I call a Ferrier and he has 50 lb for 28.90 and if I buy by the TON he will give me 1.00 off each bag.

I think that is a JOKE and like buying for a speciality story.

Coal cant cost 1000.00 a ton?????

Check with your local blacksmiths. They have sources of coal and you may be able to go in with someone on a bulk purchase.

I haven't bought it, but I know that bagged coal is an order of magnitude more expensive than bulk coal. Most places, outside northeastern Pennsylvania, have given up on coal heating entirely. Ask at old line ice dealers, fuel oil dealers, even independent lumber yards. These are the businesses that grew out of the old coal yards.

I did a google maps search for "coal near bend or" and a half a dozen dealers of coal stoves popped up. They would surely know about local bulk coal dealers.
