  • NW Arkansas or SW Missouri dry mix or fireclay sources?

Afternoon everyone. I have been calling everyone in the phone book that I could find and also the people they refer me to trying to find someone that stocks the Heatstop dry mix or fireclay for the home brew and have found nobody.

This is extremely troublesome, everyone saying that the stuff in the pail will work although it isnt water resistant therefore it isnt up to code...

Aside from that, the plans call for the RIGHT stuff...

Any help sourcing materials would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I ordered mine from Harbison-Walker or ANH. Do a web search for the site, i called and ordered it over the phone. Was 50 for a bag of fireclay and 20 to ship. Think the dealer was in Kansas, might be able to drive there.

Have you tried the special order desk (contractors desk) at HD? It's really not unobtanium. Their masonry supplier could throw a sack into the next shipment, and save you the shipping costs you would pay at a internet supplier.

Have you tried pottery or ceramics suppliers? Seems like an artsy-craftsy corner of the world.

You could also call the manufacturer, and ask for a local vendor.
