  • Low density bricks

All I have access to low density bricks made by whittaker greer, they are 4x8x2.25". Are these suitable? They also make a thinner brick 4x8x1.25. Which would be the best?

Did you mean low density firebricks? If yes, and they weigh about two pounds each, they might be insulating bricks and should only be used under the floor of your oven because they do not hold any heat for cooking. Do you have a picture of the brick?

If you are thinking about building a brick oven, my advice is Here.

I try to learn from my mistakes, and from yours when you give me a heads up.
