a metal cup wheel first if you want to cut it back and expose all the stone, then your pads
Just the pads if its nice n flat already and you only want minimal exposure

be gentle till you get a feel for the grinding. work in circles. avoid gouges

OK it took me longer than I thought to make template and forms for the benchtop. However I finally got it done made my own cement mix for the first time and uncovered my benchtop today with tap hole and a sloping drain board section on one side. I am pretty happy with how it turned out and will seal it in the coming days. Thanks everyone for you help and input. As usual it was invaluable.

hopefully a nice clear sealer will bring out the colour a bit more
