  • Mortar ratios

Hello. I just started my 32in oven and my insulating layer has been curing for a week now. I am ready to start my oven. I am sure this question has been answered before but I can't seem to find it.

What are the optimum mixtures for:
    1. The sand/fireclay to set the floor with?
    2. The high heat mortar for the dome?

As usual, your input is greatly appreciated.

Leveling mixture: half and half. You can either mix this as a paste and put it on with a notched trowel like thinset, or you can put it down dry, set your brick floor the way you want it, then wet the floor to set.
