  • Fire brick identification from markings

I can get a great deal on some radius fire bricks, but I don't know what they are or how useful they might be. Most are about 9 inches long and 2 5/8s to 3 inches thick and almost 4 inches wide.

    They have the following markings:
    Mo Rex 48-57
    AZTEX 108-117
    AZTEX 36-45
    JB 108-117
    JBF 86-105

Does anyone know what these markings mean?

    Thanks Larry

I just bought same size bricks - looks like they are going to be perfect for dome construction. I was able to contact manufacturer to find out alumina content - didn't want heavy duty bricks, couldn't find any info on your bricks in quick search - good luck
