hi any idea where is best to get fire bricks etc in the UK and help would be appreciated as everyone just seems to want to pull your pants down where i have tried if this is covered elsewhere apologies I'm a newbie
Vitcas in Bristol has them. If you're in the north, there's Armstrong in Cumbria, and Kiln Linings near Manchester (there are a number of others in the Midlands as well). They're all around ?1.29 to ?2 each for 230x114x64mm. Don't know about anything near London...checking with a friend in the southeast.
Found a pretty cheap and seemingly very reputable supplier of refractory material in the UK: potteryprouk, "the online sales division of the SWP group". Bought materials from them yesterday (bricks, mortar, calsil board, ceramic blanket) and saved £300 (incl. next day delivery to London) compared to what I'd have paid for the same items at Vitcas and £250 from Kilnlinings. Worth sharing!
