  • Mortar

    Hi
I have a question about mortar, I have been to the main cement products supplier here looking for lime to make my mortar mix for my brick, they do not carry lime but have an additive called easyflo which I do not want to use. the homedepo and lowes stores here do not carry lime only premixed cement products. I have read that garden variety lime is not good for this application.
I can buy mortar cement in bags which does not have the sand mixed in but I don't know the ratio of lime that is in it. Should I have my lime shipped in from the mainland or would anyone have a recommendation.
    Thanks

    Re: Mortar

The Easyflow is a good substitute for lime, it serves the same purpose. If all you can find is single hydrated farm use lime, it will work too.

      Thanks
I have used the easyflo for some vertical concrete work I have done around the house, not sure what proportions I would use for the high temp mortar, ant thoughts
