  • Pizza oven floor surface

I'm in the process of gathering my materials for my oven. I'm a const Superintendent in Atlanta ga. I have a granite guy who will give me 2" thick slabs of granite to use as my floor instead of fire brick? Is there any red flags I might need to know before I use this as my cooking surface? He says his oven has two layers of granite for his and it works perfect? Ps plan to build my oven 9' in the air ! Going to retro fit it to my back deck!

Don't do it for several reasons. It doesn't last, the conduction is poor, and when you have to replace it, it will be a pain to do so.
