I just got this...........am starting my build next month.......dont have much info on them. Do they look like medium duty? Any info/insight/recommendations is appreciated
Looks like medium duty. The way to tell is by weight. If you have a kitchen scale, take it with you , should weigh about 7.5-8lbs per. That is a dealio! Grab it!
2.25" indicates a medium duty brick for fireplace, pretty good deal. They should feel heavy in your hand compared to just about any other brick. (if you don't have a scale to take with.) 2.5" brick is an industry standard for refractory applications, but 2.25 is the normal height of common brick, so the industry produces firebrick that match common brick for fireplace applications.
The cost of living continues to skyrocket, and yet it remains a popular choice.
