I'm in the early dreaming and planning phase of my oven. Are these bricks likely to be a good choice?

I understand it could take a bit more cutting and I probably won't use them for the floor.

They look like they have potential. Slight curve, brand new and most likely Super High Duty. Probably hard as a rock, but perhaps the curve will be perfect for the dome. Yes I think you have a winner winner chicken dinner.

unless you are building a three meter diameter oven i do not expect the taper will work you could cut them in half and placing the small tapered face inwards will reduce the gap to the outside i would not attempt to recut the taper to suit he smaller diameter. if they are super duty you will need a good quality saw and can expect to go through several blades.
