  • Do these bricks look ok?

Hey guys, this may be a double up post, first one seems to have disappeared...
I'm in the planning/material gathering stage of building an oven, but finding it hard to find bricks.

does anyone know if these look suitable for the dome?

Hard to say. It they were used for construction of homes, most likely are NOT firebrick. However, they may be solid clay. Several UK builders on the forum have used solid reds in their domes.

      Hey,

I wish I lived in Nelson. I would probably buy one of these: https://www.flamingmasonry.co.nz/products

They look like solids to me. I would build an oven with them, for sure they are not firebrick. Price is a problem for me assuming 1.10 US dollars is about four times what I would pay for them. Offer $100 for a skid and see what happens.
The cost of living continues to skyrocket, and yet it remains a popular choice.
