Heat resistant rope.

I'm searching for a heat resistant rope to put between my refractory bricks from the oven and the bricks from my vent. I've found a rope suitable until 600°C, Would this be ok? How thick should this rope be?

600C is more than adequate The trick is getting the gap in the bricks even, but you should shoot for 7-10mm gap - and rope a little bigger than that
