  • HomeSaver Brand Chimney liner mix

I believe that this product is basically perlite mixed with a bonding agent such as portland cement. The stuff is crazy expensive @ $38.00 for a 2.5 yard bag. I managed to get 7 bags @ $18.00 each. So, I'll be trying this for my insulation. I've got an email in to their tech group. I'm basically going to ask them what ratio of portland I should be adding to what they've already got in there. Once I know approx what ratio is already mixed, I can calculate what I need to add.

Anyone on here have any experience with this brand?
What comes easy won't last long, and what lasts long won't be easy.

Ratio of perlite to portand will affect the K value of the insulation. Any sand the is also in the mix drastically affects the K value. See attached. Click image for larger version
