I used a wheelbarrow to mix, adding the perlite and vermiculite, then adding enough water to wet it sufficiently til there was a little water at the bottom then added the portland cement and mixed thoroughly to coat everything. You don't want it too sloppy, but you also don't want it too dry..
if you are using this mix at all under your cooking floor, then the ratio is around 5 or 6 to 1. You may need to clarify that one though.
