Hello,
I have a pre cast refractory dome. I would like to give the area where the chimney meets the dome more surface area to hold the chimney more securely. I was hoping to cast into a form built directly on the pre-existing dome. Will this bond the castable to the dome effectively? Or should I place a few layers of plastic between them and use refractory mortar between the new casting and the dome? Or should I just build up around the chimney base with perlcrete?
