Using coal slag in home brew?

I was wondering if anyone had used coal slag as a substitute for silica sand in the home brew? I’ve done this in my concrete counters and you can substitute 10% of your cement for it. It also has something like a 1,400-1,600C melting point which is much much higher then silica sand.
