Best alumina % for bricks

Hi friends,

Newbie here planning on some pompeii oven build...

But here's my question: how does percentage of Alumina/Silica improves the brick performance?

Does more Alumina means a better brick?

I've got a catalog from a supplier that offered me blocks from 38% to 70% of Alumina

I suggest you read the brick primer in the WFO eplans from Forno Bravo then you have to balance between cost, harder and more difficult to cut bricks, ie 70% alumina, etc
