Re: Where to buy in or around Toronto, Canada ?

I had no issues with cracking on mine. It air dried for a couple of weeks while I was on vacation, then I started the curing fires. I've almost finished the vermicrete insulation (harder to do now that we're cooking in it all the time) and then look to have an exterior dome of bricks topping the igloo.

For anyone in Toronto, I also found a source for caputo 00.

Bernardi Building Supplies for everything from blocks, firebrick, cement, brick sand, gravel, vermiculite, etc.

THen go to Alphatherm in Markham for the high temp fibre board and blanket. Ask for Elvis.

I found Bernardi's prices to be the best.

Oh and I forgot. If you are making your own homebrew and need fireclay, Check out Tuckers Pottery.

            I used Hawthorne Fireclay.

There used to be a web site, but I can't find it anymore for Caputo flour distributor in Toronto...

I bought 25 kg bag from a bakery nearby. It's too much for me.
If anyone needs any - let me know. I am in Maple, ON.

And how much did they charge for 25Kg?

I'm in Concord, just south of you...

                  Yes, it's 00 Pizzeria

I got it from fresh made pasta place.
They don't sell the flour, they just happened to have it as they tried various ones for their pasta.
He hauled the bag from the back. He had to scratch his head when I asked for the price :-) it was $50, so I paid.
Do you want any? I will not use it all.

Thank you for your generous offer... but I'm not able to take you up on it this time....

                    Thanks again

I have a line on used refractory bricks. Has anyone ever used them? Is there somewhere else in this form that discusses used bricks?
