Perlite / vermiculite mix

Hi there

I did a 2.5 part perlite, 2.5 part vermiculite to 1 part cement mix. I made what I thought was an oatmeal slurry. It feels quite brittle at present, is this normal? will it hold the bricks on top without crushing? I have attached a pic.

Kriso,

After it has cured for several days, it will be fine. If it feels slightly spongy after a couple of days, that is normal. I had to extend my pad a few inches due to, uh, designer error. I poured the extension on Thursday and had my bricks on it Friday. Please keep in mind that the original pad was still there, just not enough to support the bricks by themselves.

Looks fine Kriso. Keep it damp for at least 7 days.
