  • Build a gas grill from scratch

Has anyone built a gas grill from scratch? I've just laid out my oven in the backyard and would like to build an attached*gas grill? I've searched for plans and have been unable to find any.

    Thanks,

any chance of convincing you to switch to charcoal? in my mind, the taste is much less "sooty" with charcoal and its one heck of a lot easier to sear food with charcoal.*gas never seems to get hot enough. you can use the "charcoal" that your oven produces to give a nice wood flavor to steaks, etc. *also, its much easier with charcoal to move the heat source (e.g. the charcoal) to where you want it; either under the food, or off to the side of the food, or in the case of a rotisserie, around the perimeter of the firebox. finally, the charcoal grill would be easier to build from scratch and there are plenty of plans.
