Oven floor material

Hi just wondering if volcanic rock that. Is used in stone grill cooking would be ideal for oven floor

What do you mean..like under the firebrick? As the cooking surface? No way you mean that.....

Sorry on top of the fire brick. They are very smooth and fit together perfectly. I would have thought they would be perfect for the cooking surface.

Sure but my fire bricks are not perfectly square,some slightly chipped,just thought that these stone grill stones would be great as they are very smooth and fit in very well. Just don't want it to affect performance?

You wont notice the chips one the oven is fired as everything gets filled with ash anyway.

That sounds great. New at this I've actually got the stones, probably just looking for some where to use them ha

The other thing too is, if they are thin they will just break as you heave some more firewood in.

Yep 25mm thick, anyway might try it, will keep you updated
