  • oven floor insulation with rockwool

    Hi,
I would like to use a rockwool hard board under the floor of the oven for insulation, not sure if it can withstand the heat cycels and weight of the oven.
the plan is to use it insted of the ceramik board.
    what do you think?

      Hi Al,
The board is with density of 80kg\m and 5 cm thick.
Yesterday I did a "test" for the board and placed on it the floor tiels to see hwo it will behave with the weight. it was like a hard coshion, so im not sure if it will be possible to level the floor.
Still remains the major issue - that im not sure if it will withstand the weight and will not collapse or crumble during time.

That is why i'm thinking of changing my original plan and use a vermiculite concrete as the insulation layr under the floor. ( as I see is recomended everywhere)

since this is a change of plans I will have room for only 6.5 cm of the vermiculite concrete layer.
      1. do you think it will be strong enogh in that thickness?
      2. do you think it will be a good inulation ?

      Thanks.

If there is any doubt I wouldnt use it, it takes a lot of work to build an oven twice.
