I am 5-7 and my oven floor is 43.5" from the patio and find it to be a great height. At 6 ft you might want to try 45-47 inches - but remember if there are other cooks you might want to consider their needs also. My wife is 5-3 and she likes the height also.

A lot of variables here. You don't want to be stooping over to cook pizza but you don't want to lift a 20 pound turkey above your chest. Also, are you the only one using the oven? It's all about compromise. I suggest you cut a template of the opening (you will need it later anyway), hang it on a wall and see what feels right.

How high to a finished inside cooking floor be considering 2" fiber board, firebrick and a 5" slab?

opions would be great, I'm 6' tall

forno plans say 40" that seems low i have 4 rows of block completed so far
