if properly insulated, the oven can be as close as needed. Better check local code in Cali as well.

I had to have my opening 15 ft from any combustable surfaces per local building code. The flue also needs to be 2 ft above roof.

Thanks for the reply. I maintained 4 1/2 inche clearance and will fill with insulation.
