I am new to this , first post ,
I have nearly finished building my oven 900mm inside, my question is should I heat the oven before adding insulating blanket and render to dome and can I , should I add a water proofing agent to my render.

Hello Greg - it is better to slowly dry the dome before insulating it. There are clear instructions about how to do that on the site. Once you have dried the dome and applying the insulating blanket you can render that with whatever you chose. I used standard mortar and gave that a couple of weeks to dry before applying a waterproof acrylic colour coat. It worked fine for me.

I think the trick is to slowly dry the oven and get that right before moving forward with the process.
