Re: oven # 4
Will the snow/freeze cause any problems since some of the cement material has not "cured" long enough? I do not know what long enough is? And I ask because I am trying to finish up my WFO project before it gets too cold here in Missouri.
Thanks,
John

Re: oven # 4
you do not want to mix if the water will freeze. then you have to ad rv anti freeze to the mix and it will take longer to set up we only have about a foot to go at the top should be done today the rest of the job will be next spring. we want to start curing the oven.

You can always throw a concrete blanket over your new work and put a halogen work light inside the dome during the below freezing temps.Russell

I know people in Minnesota that fire up their ovens all year. You simply need to heat up the masonry even slower than usual. And obviously, keep the rain, snow and ice out.Old World Stone & Garden

Re: oven # 4
nice looking oven sumu! nice work on the exterior brickwork, if i ever build another thats what i'd do! i originally thought about casting my own dome but after some deliberation and a few questions on here i decided against it as i thought it too complicated! what mix did you use for your dome out of interest? bet those pizzas went down a treat, good work sir!
