  • Can I convert a brick smoker into a pizza oven??

    Hi. I bought a little place in Florida and it came with this brick grill and smoker. I would love to convert the smoker into a wood fired pizza oven! Possible? Ideas? INSTRUCTIONS:-)??? Any input would be greatly appreciated! See pic?

    Hi Ginaw,

    Not sure that it isn't like trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear but some more details of what is presently there and some more pics of the details might shake some ideas loose.
    Details like what it is made from, is the base insulated and the like would be handy.

      Thank you Steve. At this time I'm still in Chicago, so I won't have more info or pictures for a week or so. Unfortunately, I know It will never be a silk purse like yours is! (saw your pics I'd just like to make some pizza outside for fun if it's possible. I thought it might be possible to inlay some fire bricks inside the structure and call it a day. I'm starting to realize it's much more involved than that! If you don't mind, I'll add more pictures when I get them. Gina

        I am sure that there will be plenty of people on the forum who will have ideas about how you will be able to utilise what you have there. Lots of things work to different degrees and a purist would probably suggest that you keep the smoker and add a small WFO as well.

          I totally agree. I love my oven. I love my grills and my smokers. They are designed for a different purposes. But, each one turns out great food! Some foods that I cook are touched by all three before they hit the table.

          Keep what you have and find the space nearby for a proper oven.
