I'm just getting started on my oven project using the plans I got from FB. The instructions call for a pad 73" x 86" a with a block stand 65"x 78 but in the materials list it has a pad 80"x 94" and stand 72"x84". Any thoughts on which would be the better size for a 42" igloo oven?

What I did was take the oven diameter add twice the brick thickness and twice the insulation thickness plus twice the cladding/stucco finish to come up with a dome diameter. Then I decided how much of the slab I wanted sticking outside of the dome.
I will have about 2" of slab around my dome. My slab overhangs the block work by about 4"
I worked out the block work to be whole blocks and then made the slab size according to my dome calculations.
There are no hard and fast rules on stand size or slab size.
