So I've been researching online and here's what I have so far. ...A few of my design items are unorthodox: Mortar-less cement block and Treated lumber for shelf. I purchased something called quickrete quickwall stucco, which you can supposedly dry stack the concrete block because it has fiberglass material in the mortar. Additionally I applied Liquid Nails to every layer. In the included images I have not applied the stucco yet. As far as the treated lumber situation I am obviously concerned about the heat from the over compromising the lumber. I used an adhesive and glued down 2 sheets of concrete board on top of the lumber, next step is setting up four inch forms around the concrete board and filling with cement, once set I will cover with 4" foamglass and then another layer of cement board. And to test my theory I left 2 gaps in the shelf so that I can measure the temp from below with a infrared thermometer. More pics to come...
