Hello everyone - long time listener, first time caller.
I'm about to push the button on ordering supplies for my oven. The block base is built and ready but now I can't put off my last decision any longer. Castable or Brick? I've seen a few comments here going back and forth between the two but this has mainly been about cost or heat transfer, but one of my main questions is how likely is it that a person who hasn't placed a brick in his life can do a satisfactory job with fire bricks building a dome?
I'm pretty sure I can squish castable on to a form (following Alan Watt's book) but brick looks pretty intimidating.
Cheers
Toby
