  • Lazy Susan in Base

Maybe someone has done this already, but why not take a heavy duty wheel spindle and hub and make a lazy Susan for inside the stand? This is what we would do if we were designing a modern kitchen. Well we wouldn't be bringing parts from the wrecking yard...but we would put in a lazy susan in a large space with a small opening.

    Bolt spindle into the concrete
Slide shelf mounted to hub onto the spindle.
    It sounds simple right?

There would need to be a large 'lip' around the SUPER Susan's shelf to keep the wood on it.

    Dr.D-

Are you talking about making a whole oven rotate on top of a metal oven stand? Sounds interesting...

O'god no! I was thinking about beneath so it's easier to get to items (wood) stored below.

I didn't mention, I think that is an excellent idea. As a matter of fact I'm gonna fine tune this design and use it on mine if you don't mind? I'll be sure to give you credit for the idea

I had a barrel vault oven at my old house and I swear the last time I saw the back wall was before I loaded it with wood the first time. On the one we built in the bakery I made the base an H and used both front and back for storage.
